Construction Before & After in San Diego, CA
Photos do what promises can’t. A kitchen or bathroom remodel is a big decision with a lot of moving parts, and seeing the actual transformation in a San Diego house, with the same challenges yours might have, is the quickest way to know what’s possible. Below you’ll find a sample of our recent work, organized by the kind of job, not the prettiest picture we could find. Every project started with a written price and ended with a 365-Day Done Right Promise behind it.

Recent Transformations
Mission Hills Kitchen: From Closed-Off to Open-Flow
Before
AfterThe original kitchen was a galley layout with a load-bearing wall separating it from the dining room, so the homeowner couldn’t see the backyard or talk to guests while cooking. We worked with a structural engineer to spec a flush beam that let us remove that wall without any ceiling bulkhead, then rebuilt the kitchen as an L-shaped plan with a peninsula. The result is a kitchen that finally feels connected to the rest of the home, with KraftMaid shaker cabinets and a Cambria Brittanica quartz island that seats four.
Pacific Beach Bathroom: Fixing a Leaky, Cramped Primary Suite
Before
AfterThe primary bath in this 1970s Pacific Beach condo had water damage behind the tile, a shower that leaked into the unit below, and a layout that wasted the corner next to the door. We demoed to the studs, replaced the rotted framing, and installed a full cement board substrate (the moisture-resistant layer behind your tile) before rebuilding. The new layout adds a curbless shower, a double vanity with Kohler fixtures, and a Toto toilet, and the leak is gone for good.
North Park Whole-Home: Opening Up a 1920s Craftsman
Before
AfterThis North Park craftsman had good bones but a chopped-up floor plan, a kitchen from 1982, and a bathroom that didn’t function for a family of four. We removed two interior walls, reframed the kitchen opening, and reworked the hallway so the secondary bedroom gained a closet. The exterior got James Hardie siding to match the neighborhood’s character, and the whole house got an electrical panel upgrade to handle the new appliance load. Whole-home remodels like this one typically run $45,000-$85,000 in San Diego depending on how much framing and systems work is involved.
Point Loma Bathroom: Converting a Tub to a Walk-In Shower

The homeowners in this Point Loma split-level had a tub they never used, and stepping over the tub wall was becoming a genuine safety concern. We removed the tub, reframed the alcove for a larger shower pan, and waterproofed the entire wet area before tile went in. The new walk-in shower uses Grohe thermostatic valves and a linear drain, and the extra floor space made the small bathroom feel twice as large. It’s the kind of job that sounds simple on paper but requires precise floor framing and drain relocation underneath.
Clairemont Kitchen: Replacing a Failed Layout on a Budget

This Clairemont home had a kitchen that looked fine in listing photos but was miserable to cook in: the fridge door hit the island, the dishwasher opened into the walkway, and the sink faced a blank wall. We kept the plumbing in the same wall to avoid slab work, but moved the sink to the window, swapped the island orientation, and replaced the dated cabinet boxes with Wellborn frameless cabinets. The Silestone quartz counters and a Blanco undermount sink finished it off, and the whole job came in under the written price we quoted on day one.
La Mesa Home: Curb Appeal and a Functional Entry

The front entry on this La Mesa ranch had settled stairs, a hollow-core door that stuck in the rain, and a walkway that faded into the landscaping. We rebuilt the stair landing with proper footings, installed a Therma-Tru fiberglass entry door that won’t warp, and laid a Belgard paver walkway that actually guides visitors to the door. It’s a smaller job than a full remodel, but it changed how the house feels the second you pull into the driveway.
