Blanco Fence Installation: The San Diego Owner’s Guide

Blanco fence installation in San Diego typically runs $4,130 to $10,620, with most homeowners landing around $7,000 for a standard backyard perimeter using Blanco-compatible post systems and panels. We stock the common Blanco post caps, gate hinges, and latch hardware on our trucks, so most jobs go from quote to completion in two to three days, not two weeks. The call usually starts the same way: a gate that drags, a post that leans after the winter rains, or a latch that no longer catches because the San Diego soil shifted underneath it.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco makes fence hardware and post systems in a few distinct lines, and matching the wrong component is the most common mistake we see. The Blanco Standard series uses 2-inch square posts with a friction-fit cap that tends to crack at the corners after five to seven years of direct sun exposure. The Blanco Euro series runs a narrower 1.75-inch post profile and uses a set-screw cap that owners sometimes overtighten, stripping the threads. You’ll find the model stamp on the inside face of the post, about six inches down from the top, or on the hinge leaf if you’re replacing gate hardware.

For the part itself, we recommend OEM Blanco hardware when the post or panel is still under warranty. If the post is structurally fine and you’re just replacing caps or latches, a quality aftermarket equivalent in powder-coated aluminum will outlast the original in San Diego’s salt air, especially within three miles of the coast. We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Blanco, so we’ll tell you straight when the aftermarket part is actually the better call.

Signs Your Blanco Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Gate drags or won’t latch. The post has settled or rotated slightly, and the latch tongue no longer lines up with the strike plate. This is almost always a footing issue, not a hardware issue.
  • Post cap is cracked or missing. UV exposure breaks down the plastic in Blanco Standard caps, and once water gets inside the post, rust follows within a season or two.
  • Rust streaks below post caps or hinges. Salt air near San Diego’s coast accelerates corrosion on the standard galvanized hardware. The fix is usually a switch to stainless or powder-coated aluminum.
  • Panels rattle in the wind. The horizontal rails have worked loose from the post brackets, and the screws are either stripped or the bracket ears have bent outward.
  • Soil erosion around post bases. Hillside lots in areas like Clairemont or La Mesa lose topsoil during heavy rain, exposing the concrete footing and allowing the post to lean.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

An open kitchen and dining area after a remodel

For San Diego homeowners, count on $4,130 to $10,620 for a full Blanco fence installation, including all posts, panels, hardware, and labor. A smaller repair, like replacing caps and latches on an existing fence, lands at the bottom of that range or below it. What drives the number up is the number of corner posts, whether we’re pouring new footings, and whether the fence runs along a slope that needs stepped panels.

Every quote we write includes the parts line by line, the labor, and the disposal of the old material. The number on day one is the number on the invoice, and the work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge. No service call fee, no re-inspection fee, no fine print.

DIY or Call Us?

Replacing a Blanco post cap is a five-minute job you can handle with a rubber mallet and a clean work surface. Anything involving a leaning post or a gate that won’t close is a different story. That post is set in concrete, and pulling and resetting it properly means digging to the footing depth, checking for irrigation lines, and getting the new post plumb before the concrete sets. Get it wrong and the gate binds again in six months.

If you want to check a few things before you call, look at the post caps first, then the hinge screws. If the post itself moves when you push on it, the footing has failed and no amount of hardware replacement will fix it. That’s when you call us at (619) 604-9624. Trevor Nash will come out, measure everything, and give you a written number before any work starts.
